Ruport Murdoch accidentally caused the leak of X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

This comes from a very gossipy article and is the very definition of tabloid journalism, so this may very well turn out to not be true. Roger Freidman, the fired Fox columnist who got in hot water for watching and reviewing a bootleg copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is apparently suing Fox for wrongful termination. The majority of the article deals with various sensational claims involving Scientology (yawn), basically alleging that powerful members of the religion got Friedman fired as a result of negative press attention given to Tom Cruise's Valkyrie late last year among other things. But, in what may be a case of burying the lead, there is a little tidbit near the end...

According to (Freidman's attorney) Garbus, the leak of “Wolverine” onto the Web traced back to Murdoch asking the studio to make him a DVD copy of the unfinished movie. “Apparently, someone made another copy for themselves,” says Garbus.

I've called and emailed Friedman's lawyer, Martin Garbus, for confirmation of this information (the woman who answered the phone was shockingly pleasant and friendly). We'll see if he responds and what transpires.
